SBA: Tense Saturday

Short post. I just want to get in the habit of doing this each day, even though ain’t no one out there readin’ me yet. :) Sittin’ here listening to AJ’s new journal Podcast and waiting for my friend Heather to go to dinner at Headhunters. Not sure I want to go out. It’s very cold in Sacramento tonight. I skipped going to the White Rose Awards which is the big event tonight—why the hell they held it on New Year’s weekend I dunno. But it’s at a bar…so I should’ve gone. DAMN IT!

So, after my post yesterday, they hanged Sadaam. I’ve been paying attention to the online news to see what the reaction is in Iraq. I am reading the BBC news releases in case the media here is down-playing whatever is going on. How sad, I’m part of the media and I don’t trust them. Watch the movie Network, you’ll understand. And I have to say that I refuse to watch video or look at pictures of Sadaam’s (or anyone’s) “last moments”. I watched the video of the insurgents cutting off that poor guy’s head while he begged them not to. I did it because I felt that if he went through it. we had the…duty (for lack of a better word) to be informed and make his death have some meaning. I was f-ed up for weeks after and I can’t find any meaning from it other than an even more ingrained belief that life is precious and sacred.

Enough about that, let’s leave off on a happier topic…um…hmm…Oh! Today we got my two cats (Shadow-Tiddles and Sox) a litterpan with a dome cover. Like a little cat-poo igloo. If it spares me havin’ to look at poos I’m all for it. OK, I’ve sunk to catpoo talk. Time to end this for the day. If anyone is out there, leave me a comment. My blog is so lonely….

Our cats have a roof on their litter box. It gives them a little more privacy. I think your kitties will like it.

Back to Saddam, I want to see his final moments. It is just my nature. It’s real. I never want to close my eyes to what’s real, even if it’s disturbing.

  2. Changing cat litter is a never ending, no rewarding chore. I have 3 indoor cats, myself.

I really don’t think Sadaam’s execution is going to change anything. Seems almost purposeless. I believe it was a Bush family vendetta that had to be scored. Notice…no comments from the President of his father about today’s execution.
