SBA : Pictures & Daddy

Well, I got creative this morning and added a page of photos. Scroll down the side of this page or just click here. Enjoy my weird work environment.

Also, I was working the clothing check last night at the Brief Encounters Underwear program MGW runs at FACES Nightclub and I noticed the date was Feb. 8. It was my father’s birthday. I used to hate my father. I’ll go into that sometime on one of my casts, but it’s a pretty intense story and too much to write—especially on deadline. So during the downtime I took an internal tricorder and scanned my feelings for him after it being well over a year since having last seen him or spoken to him.

I have come to point where I think I don’t really feel anything. I know I no longer hate him. I haven’t loved him since I was about 17. Some people would argue that my hate for him was made from the love I had for him or some psycho-babble. But ya know, I hate Hitler and guess what—I never loved him. Barring of course I was Eva Braun in my past life.

So, I have let the anger go. I have little to no feelings for him either way. So, even though it may not be the Walton Family Christmas folks might hope for me…I have my inner peace with him. That’s enough.

I like all the pictures you posted. One of these days I’m going to get to Sac and crash at your place. You know I’m not scheduled to go out to California for another 30 years, but maybe I’ll have to move it up a little.

I didn’t know it’s been so long since you’ve seen or talked to your dad. I’m glad you’ve kind of let him go. If there is one lesson you learned from him, it’s how not to be.

  2. Oh Matthew, I completely know what you are talking about in reference of feelings toward your father.

I came to the same inner piece…I felt really nothing for him. I didn’t hate him anymore. We both agreed to be civil and stay out of each others lives.

I haven’t seen or spoken to my parents for the last 12 years.
