Yay Matt! I’m so happy that I get me some SBA everyday! You are really brave to put your personal life out there for us to listen and appreciate. I wish you the best of luck in your dual 30 challenges! I believe in you! (even though you don’t know me!)

  2. Hello! I’ve been listening to your NaPodPoMo episodes, and enjoying them.
In regards to this episode: I, too, was disappointed by how the vote went in Maine. I was so angry with how that went here in California that I did an entire podcasted rant about it. Someday, I hope this country wakes up and gets things right.

Also, the disgusting scottish food that was mentioned on this show that y’all didn’t know the name of… it’s called “Haggis”. I’ve actually tried that once, when I was incredibly inebriated, and it wasn’t that bad, just excessively salty. Not something I’d want to try while sober, though, considering what it’s made out of.

  3. Still loving the podcasts with you and Eric. I have a few thoughts regarding the vote in Maine. Now, you KNOW that I’m no Pollyanna, but I’ve been trying to put all of this into perspective. Look at the big picture and where we are now compared to where we were just ten years ago. Yes, we lost in Maine, but also do you realize that almost HALF of the people did vote for gay marriage? The numbers are trending in our favor; it’s just a matter of time. Remember that progress is painful. Progress is slow. There will be many defeats along the way. Yes, it hurts, but I’m trying to keep all of that in mind. I was personally hurt by the Prop 8 fiasco in California (especially after my own mom jumped on the bandwagon and made calls to people urging them to vote FOR Prop 8)! But looking at it this way helps me not to be consumed by anger.

Also, regarding the conservatives you speak of that are taking over — these idiotic teabaggers and town hall maniacs are the vocal minority. They’re just acting foolish and getting on TV. WE are the majority. People voted overwhelmingly for Obama and the Democrats because they wanted these changes. It’s just a few loudmouths that are getting all the attention. The Republicans are going down the path of becoming the party of Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh. They may have some successes along the way, but if they keep going the way they are, eventually they will self-destruct.

I quote this every time someone says cake.

  5. Stevia (or products made with it) is an all-natural, no-calorie sweetener and it’s made from a plant. It’s much more potent than sugar or artificial sweeteners so a little goes a long way. I’ve used it mostly to sweeten drinks like iced tea. I like it better than the artificial stuff but sometimes it made my innards feel a little weird.
