Matt’s journey into journalism began in 1996 at a small LGBT newspaper in Sacramento, CA named Mom, Guess What! He has written for numerous publications around the country, and served as managing editor at five different publications during his career. In 2014 he left the journalism field to focus on being a novelist. He currently freelances for Outword Magazine in Sacramento, CA.
